For all you non-SGUers, CPD = Communication & Physical Diagnosis- probably the first course at SGU where you get to do real 'doctor-ish' things like take histories and physical exams. The first couple of the weeks is all about perfecting the art of history taking. Fake patients come in and we sit down with them and take histories.
While taking a sexual history on our patient (a particularly non-verbose, 45 year old man)-
Student: Do you use protection?
Patient: Yes.
Student: What kind of protection?
Patient: Condoms.
Student: And do you use them on a daily basis?
Patient: Uh, well, I mean, whenever necessary...
It's technically not professional to burst out laughing when making an error in history taking...so we stifled it as much as possible until the student concluded their history taking. At which point all hell broke loose. Good times.
The student shall remain nameless yet again but suffice to say it was the same one from yesterday's 'circumcised tumors' incident. Love 'em.

Hey Srav, I finally found your blog after you posted on mine and put it together via google... at least I think it is you...Thanks for your kind words and support, they were great.
We had a class like CPD at my school -- I have written about it extensively on some of my other posts. It is basically www.awkward.com and makes it sometimes hard to see the reality of what it's like to deal with a real patient. But it's something, and certainly better than nothing.
keep up the writing. True Blue offers many stories to write about.
